Barkley frustrated at Chelsea

Ross Barkley is frustrated with life at Chelsea less than six months after leaving boyhood club Everton to join the Blues, claims The Sun.

The 24-year-old endured a miserable campaign due to injury and failed to make any impression at Chelsea after moving to Stamford Bridge in January.

Barkley was not close to making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2018 World Cup but he is determined to force his way into the reckoning next season.

The Chelsea No.8 will hope for better fortunes next season but it’s still unclear who will manage the club going forward.

Chelsea have reportedly already agreed personal terms with Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri but face a huge bill if they sack Antonio Conte.

There is also the fact that Sarri has a £7m release clause in his current Napoli deal and the Italian side will only consider waiving that fee if they get David Luiz on the cheap in return.

Barkley only managed two Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season, while limited to two substitute appearances in the FA Cup and League Cup.
