West Brom are one of three Premier League sides interested in making a summer move for Montpellier striker Steve Mounie, reports Foot 365, via Get French Football.
Tony Pulis’ side have enjoyed a great season and already have one eye on the summer transfer window but could face competition from league rivals Leicester and Middlesbrough if they firm up their interest in Mounie.
The 22-year-old is a product of the Montpellier youth academy and is enjoying a stellar breakthrough campaign for Jean-Louis Gasset’s side and his performances have seemingly not gone without notice in England.
Mounie has scored 13 goals in 27 league appearances for the former French champions this term and it’s his aerial ability that has perhaps caught the eye more than most of his traits.
Given his size, it’s unsurprising that he is so effective in the air, but even so, only Andy Carroll (9.4) and Christian Benteke (9) win more aerial duels per game in Europe’s top five leagues this season than Mounie (8.6).
