Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is close to joining Serie A side Lazio on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to sign, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Pereira is yet to feature for United this season after dropping further down the pecking order following Donny van de Beek's arrival from Ajax over the summer.
The 24-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular ever since returning from a loan stint at Granada three years ago.
United are looking to trim their bloated squad and Pereira could kickstart a flurry of departures over the next week.
Lazio's proposed offer will see Pereira spend the season on loan before signing in a permanent deal worth in the region of £10m next summer.
The Serie A outfit still need to agree personal terms with the United midfielder and offload Felipe Caicedo to make room in their squad but there is a growing belief a deal will get done.
Pereira garnered the lowest WhoScored rating of all United players that made at least 10 Premier League starts last season (6.55).
