Monaco hope to follow up the arrival of Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea with Michy Batshuayi, claims The Daily Telegraph.
Fabregas has agreed terms with a move to Monaco and is just waiting for Chelsea to find a replacement and agree a fee with the Ligue 1 side.
Thierry Henry is keen to add experience to Monaco’s squad this month after their shambolic start to the season.
Monaco have been linked with Atletico Madrid outcast Nikola Kalinic and are now in the race for Chelsea striker Batshuayi.
Valencia are in the process of terminating Batshuayi’s season-long loan deal six months early after failing to make any impression at the club.
Chelsea are expected to loan Batshuayi out for the remainder of the season and Henry is keen on the 25-year-old, having worked with the striker during his stint as Belgium’s assistant coach.
Batshuayi has endured a miserable first half of the season after only managing four league starts for Valencia. Of players to have made at least 15 league appearances in La Liga this season, Batshuayi is the lowest WhoScored rated player (6.23).
In his last season in France, Batshuayi scored 17 goals in 36 league appearances for Marseille, which earned him a move to Chelsea in the summer of 2016.
