Fiorentina have confirmed star forward Federico Chiesa has joined Serie A rivals Juventus on a two-year loan with obligation to buy.
Fiorentina rebuffed Manchester United's interest in Chiesa in recent weeks but have reluctantly now sanctioned his departure to their Serie A rivals.
Juventus have made an attempt to reduce the average age of their squad this summer by offloading the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi, while also loaning Douglas Costa back to Bayern Munich on deadline day to make room for Chiesa.
The Old Lady have signed Chiesa on an initial loan move due to the financial impact of COVID-19 but will sign him permanently for €50m (£45.3m).
Chiesa has spent his entire career at Fiorentina since bursting into the first-team four years ago.
The 22-year-old has played a direct hand in 18 goals in 37 league appearances since the beginning of last season (11 goals, 7 assists).
Of the 33 players to have reached double figures for goals in that time, Chiesa has the worst conversion rate (9.1%).
