Southampton set to make £15m move for Premier League midfielder

Southampton are eyeing up a £15m move for Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson at the end of the season, reports Sky Sports.

Sigurdsson, 27, has been outstanding for Swansea this season and is expected to leave the Welsh outfit for a second time this season with a number of Premier League clubs chasing his signature.

The Iceland international will almost certainly be sold if Swansea are relegated to the Championship and Southampton are determined to beat their rivals to his signature as they eye an improvement next season following an underwhelming campaign.

While Sigurdsson’s performances have dipped recently, he has still scored or assisted 19 goals in 33 league appearances for a Swansea side that are in the bottom three and have only won eight games all season.
