Burnley have failed with their opening offer of £3.5m for Derby and Republic of Ireland midfielder Jeff Hendrick, according to The Daily Mirror.
Hendrick thoroughly impressed for Ireland at Euro 2016 and his performances saw him tipped with a move to the Premier League.
Newly promoted Burnley are keen to bolster this squad this summer in a bid to avoid being relegated from the Premier League as they were two seasons ago.
The 24-year-old still has two years remaining on his existing deal with Derby and the Rams insist the midfielder is not for sale this summer.
Hendrick was responsible for 33.3% of Ireland’s shots on target at Euro 2016 (3).
