Barcelona have announced they have accelerated the transfer of Toulouse defender Jean-Clair Todibo by paying the French side a reported €2m fee.
Todibo’s previous deal with Toulouse was due to expire at the end of the season and the 19-year-old had agreed a Bosman transfer with Barcelona earlier this month.
The France Under-20 international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City but Barcelona beat their European rivals to his signature.
Barcelona have now successfully managed to bring forward his arrival and the teenager has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal running until the summer of 2023.
Todibo scored his first senior goal during Toulouse’s 1-1 draw with Rennes in September and finishes his time at the club with a WhoScored rating of 6.79 from 10 appearances, last playing at the start of November.
