Manchester City are weighing up Leroy Sane’s future following an indifferent campaign under Pep Guardiola, claims The Daily Record.
Sane has dropped down the pecking order this season and City have failed to make a breakthrough in contract talks with the Germany international.
Guardiola has shown he does not trust Sane in big matches this season and is now sensationally weighing up whether to cash-in on last season’s PFA Young Player of the Year.
Sane will have two years left to run on his existing City deal this summer and the Premier League leaders want his future resolved before the start of next season.
The 23-year-old has watched a number of City’s high-profile stars ink bumper new deals in the last 12 months but deems the club’s offers of a new contract unsatisfactory.
City are unwilling to break the bank for a player that does not get regular playing time and could even cash in on his services this summer.
Rather than risk letting Sane run down his contract, City may sensationally ponder his sale at the end of the season when they can still command maximum value.
Despite only starting 21 league matches this season, Sane is one of just three players that has registered double figures for goals and assists in the Premier League.
Furthermore, of players to have made at least five Premier League starts this season, only two players have a higher WhoScored rating (excluding substitute appearances) than Sane (7.69).
