Juventus eye Tottenham creator Eriksen on free transfer

Juventus want to sign Tottenham creator Christian Eriksen but are prepared to wait until next summer before acting on their interest, claims The Daily Mail.

Eriksen has entered the final 12 months of his current Tottenham deal and confirmed earlier in the summer he wants a change of scenery.

Tottenham decided in the last week of the English transfer window they want to cash in on Eriksen now rather than losing him for nothing next year.

Manchester United held initial talks about a potential transfer before pulling the plug on their interest.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side got the impression Eriksen was not keen on moving to Old Trafford and ended their pursuit there and then.

Eriksen wants to secure a summer move to Spain but Real Madrid appear to have cooled their interest in the 27-year-old.

Atletico Madrid have earmarked Eriksen as a potential transfer target this month but their first-choice target is James Rodriguez.

Eriksen faces the prospect of missing out on a move away from Tottenham this summer and Juventus are monitoring his future.

Eriksen was dropped to the bench in Tottenham’s first league game of the season on Saturday before reminding Mauricio Pochettino off his qualities with a cameo role.

Tottenham were losing 1-0 when Eriksen was introduced after the hour-mark and the Dane completely changed the balance of the game.

Pochettino’s side ran out 3-1 winners in the end and there were immediate calls by supporters for Eriksen to reclaim his starting berth for their next Premier League game.
