West Ham close in on club-record signing

West Ham are poised to shatter their club-transfer record for the second time this summer after agreeing a £24m fee with Juventus for Simone Zaza, according to The Guardian.

The Hammers are woefully short up front after losing Andy Carroll and current club-record signing Andre Ayew to long-term injuries and Slaven Bilic has confirmed personal terms have been agreed with Zaza, who is due to arrive for his medical.

Zaza, 24, has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus this summer after dropping down the pecking order since Gonzalo Higuain’s arrival.

The Italy international, who missed the decisive penalty that knocked his country out of Euro 2016, has scored five league goals in 19 appearances for Juventus.
