Wolves on verge of making first signing of the summer

Wolves are in advanced talks with Porto to complete the permanent signing of Willy Boly, reports BBC Sport.

Boly joined Wolves on a season-long loan deal last summer and played an integral part in their title-winning campaign in the Championship.

Nuno wants to keep all of the squad together for life in the Premier League next season and they are close to securing Boly’s services on a full-time basis.

The 27-year-old made 36 league appearances for Wolves this season and is set to cost the newly promoted side in the region of £10m.

When the deal goes through, Boly will become the fourth most expensive player in the club’s history. In fact, the five most expensive deals Wolves have pulled off have been completed in the last two years.

The French defender finished the season as the fourth highest WhoScored rated player in the Championship (7.52), scoring three times and registering two assists from the back.

Not only that, but only Adama Traore (14) and Curtis Davies (10) won the WhoScored Man of the Match award more times than Boly (8).
