Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has revealed the club will sell Neymar if they receive the right offer.
The Ligue 1 champions have opened up disciplinary action against Neymar after the Brazil international failed to show for the first day of pre-season on Monday.
Neymar’s father insists the club were aware his son is not due to return to Paris until later this month but the club have ran out of patience with their world record signing.
PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi revealed earlier this summer the club only want committed players and feel Neymar’s interests are placed elsewhere.
The 27-year-old has spent the last two years at PSG after completing a shock £200m move from Barcelona but has been linked with a return to Spain ever since.
Barcelona have confirmed an interest in re-signing Neymar this summer but Leonardo insists he will only sold if they receive a satisfactory offer.
“Neymar can leave PSG if there is an offer made that suits everybody.” he told Le Parisien. “For now, we do not know if anybody wants to buy him or at what price. What is certain is that this sort of thing does not get done in one day.
“We have not received any offers, but there has been very superficial contact [with Barcelona]. They said they want to buy him but that we do not want to sell him. That is what [Barcelona chairman Josep Maria Bartomeu] said, but we did not see them in a real buying position.”
Neymar has failed to complete a full season since joining PSG after being struck down by three serious ankle injuries during that time.
The Brazil international’s time at PSG will be considered a huge disappointment but only due to their failures in the Champions League.
Neymar has scored and assisted 54 goals in 37 league appearances for PSG (34 goals, 20 assists).
