Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal for a reported £28m, the Bundesliga club have confirmed.
Vidal, 28, completed his medical in Munich on Monday and has put pen to paper on a four-year deal.
The Chile international is Pep Guardiola’s second marquee signing of the summer following the £21m arrival of Douglas Costa and is believed to be a replacement for Bastian Schweinsteiger, who joined Manchester United earlier this month.
Vidal’s energy and tenacious style of play will add some much needed bite to Guardiola’s midfield as he continues to find the formula needed to win the Champions League. In fact, no player has made more tackles in Europe’s top 5 leagues in the last four seasons than the Chilean (546).
