Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen to link up with midfielder Cesc Fabregas at Old Trafford, reports the Daily Mirror.
The midfielder endured a disappointing Euro 2016 campaign, with his Spain side knocked out at the quarter final stage by Antonio Conte’s Italy.
Conte is set to undertake his first training session since becoming Blues boss later this week and will assess the squad before the season gets underway.
Fabregas’ position is under scrutiny, with Chelsea rumoured to be closing in on N’Golo Kante as Conte looks to strengthen the midfield.
The 29-year-old was below his usual standards last season following an impressive debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, winning the title for the first time following his switch to west London.
And Mourinho could look to tempt Fabregas away from the capital to Manchester, with the Portuguese boss hoping to bolster the United midfield this summer.
Despite United’s rumoured interest in Fabregas, they are still hoping to conclude a deal that would see Paul Pogba return to Old Trafford during the transfer window.
