Monaco have no interest in selling starlet

Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev insists keeping Kylian Mbappe at the club next season is their top priority this summer.

Mbappe has captured the attention of European football following his remarkable rise this season and is already being linked with world record moves to some of the continent’s biggest clubs.

The 18-year-old, who has also earned his first senior France caps this season, has been linked with blockbuster moves to Real Madrid and Manchester United this summer, but Monaco insist they will rebuff any offers that come their way.

“It is part of our model that some players leave but now we are financially much stronger than two years ago,” Vasilyev told CNN. “With all these young players, we know that their value will never go down because they are so talented and ambitious. To keep Mbappe? It is out priority.”

Mbappe has scored 15 goals and registered eight assists in Ligue this season despite only starting 16 matches and making 12 further appearances from the bench. In fact, he has played a direct hand in a league goal every 61.3 minutes of action, which is a stunning return from the teenager.

Not only that, but he proved his ability in the Champions League as well. He scored against Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City during the knockout phases and ended with six goals in the competition.
