Arsenal consider loaning Ozil out

Arsenal are contemplating letting Mesut Ozil leave on loan next month less than a year after handing the playmaker a huge new deal, claims The Times.

Ozil penned a new long-term contract worth more than £300,000-a-week at the start of the year but has endured a torrid season under new manager Unai Emery.

Emery failed to offer assurances about Ozil’s future at the club after leaving the German out of his squad for Wednesday’s north London derby defeat to Tottenham.

Ozil is free to leave Arsenal next month but the Gunners are aware they will struggle to command any sort of fee due to his wage demands.

The 30-year-old has started 10 Premier League matches for Arsenal this season but has only featured in six of their last 16 matches in all competitions.

Arsenal have a 71.4% win ratio in the Premier League this season when Ozil has not started compared to just 50% when he has featured from the off.
