Liverpool look set to miss out to Sevilla for Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev, according to the Daily Mirror.
Cheryshev has hardly featured for Madrid this season and Zinedine Zidane admitted he could leave on loan before the transfer window shuts on Monday in order to find regular playing time.
Liverpool have previously been linked with the Russia international but Jurgen Klopp’s men look set to miss out for his signature, with Sevilla favourite to take him on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old hasn’t featured for Madrid since midway through December when he turned out in their controversial Copa del Rey exit to Cadiz, where he started the match but was actually ineligible for selection after picking up a suspension in the cup during his loan stint at Villarreal last season.
Cheryshev has only featured in 70 minutes of football in the league and Champions League this season and has one assist to his name. Moreover, of players to have featured in least 1,000 minutes in La Liga last season, only three required fewer minutes per assist than Cheryshev during his loan spell with Villarreal (188 mins).
