Wolves plan £17m move for Liga NOS sensation

Wolves want to bolster their offensive options in January and plan to make a £17m move for Portimonense attacker Shoya Nakajima, claims The Daily Mail.

Nuno’s side spent in the region of £100m on new players in the summer but are keen to improve their ranks further when the January transfer window opens.

Wolves have largely played well in their first season back in the Premier League since 2012 but Nuno believes poor finishing has undermined their progress thus far.

The newly promoted side have earmarked Nakajima as a top transfer target ahead of next month and believe they have the edge over Borussia Dortmund and Leicester.

Nakajima has spent the last two seasons at Portimonense but the Portuguese side only made his move from FC Tokyo permanent this year.

The 24-year-old played a direct hand in 20 league goals (10 goals, 10 assists) in his maiden campaign for the club and has followed that up with five goals and three assists in 10 Liga NOS games this term.

Since the start of last season only three players have registered more key passes (95) and only three players have had more shots (113) than Nakajima in Liga NOS.

In the Premier League, meanwhile, Wolves have the fifth worst conversion rate (7.2%) and the hope is that Nakajima can help fire them to safety this season.
