Everton eye move for Barcelona striker

Everton are interested in signing Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer this summer, claims Spanish outlet Sport.

The Merseyside outfit are already in talks with their Spanish counterparts for Colombian defender Yerry Mina and are also keen on landing Alcacer.

New Everton boss Marco Silva wants to bolster his offensive options ahead of the new season and has earmarked a move for the 24-year-old.

Barcelona shelled out in the region of €30m to sign the Spain international from Valencia in 2016 but he has failed to make any impact at the club.

Signed as a back-up option to the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, Alcacer has been restricted to little game time during his two-year stint at the club.

Barcelona are not opposed to the idea of selling the Spanish striker but would want to recoup as much of their initial investment as possible.

Alcacer has only made 37 league appearances during his time at Barcelona and only 14 of those came as starts. He played a direct hand in 16 goals in that period, but has struggled to influence matches.
