Bournemouth emerge as shock destination for Tottenham midfielder

According to The Sun, Bournemouth are willing to offer Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama a way out of the club this summer.

The Kenyan has fallen down the pecking order with the London club, with Tanguy NDombele’s arrival further restricting his chances of first team football.

The Frenchman, along with compatriot Moussa Sissoko and England internationals Eric Dier and Harry Winks is one of four central midfielders ahead of the former Saints man in the pecking order.

It has now emerged that a return to the south coast could be on the cards for the midfielder, though this time with Southampton’s local rivals Bournemouth.

The Cherries have already added Philip Billing to their midfield ranks this summer but a potential cut price fee for Wanyama has reportedly attracted their interest.

The 28-year-old, who spent the summer at the Africa Cup of Nations, is believed to be available for around £11.5m - the same fee Spurs spent on his services back in 2016 - having started just four of 13 league appearances last season, in part due to injury.

In fact, since his debut season in the capital in which he was a mainstay in the side, Wanyama has started just 12 of a possible 76 Premier League matches.
