Fenerbahce confirm agreement to sign Monaco star
Nabil Dirar will complete a move from Ligue 1 champions Monaco to Fenerbahce, according to the Turkish club’s official website.
The Moroccan international will sign a three-year deal in Istanbul, bringing to an end a five-year stint in the French principality.
"We have an agreement in place with Dirar and Monaco, and we are delighted to confirm that he will be joining us,” Fenerbahce announced.
The 31-year old only started 8 of 18 appearances in Ligue 1 last season but did score once and register 3 assists to help Monaco to the title, whilst making seven appearances as Jardim’s side unexpectedly reached the Champions League semi-finals.
Dirar made a key pass every 36 minutes in the French top-flight last season, while a successful dribble every 33.3 minutes was more frequent than any other teammate to play more than twice.
Fenerbahce finished a disappointing third last season, meaning their campaign will begin early with the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
