Chelsea eye summer move for underfire Manchester United ace
Chelsea are ready to hand Luke Shaw an escape route from his Manchester United hell, claims The Daily Mail.
Shaw is expected to leave United at the end of the season after further public humiliation at the hands of Mourinho.
The 22-year-old was hauled off at half-time in United’s 2-0 win over Brighton on Saturday night and is reportedly fed up of Mourinho’s treatment of him.
Mourinho has been heavily critical of Shaw since becoming United manager in 2016 and many believe the England international is fighting a losing battle.
United would not be short of suitors for Shaw but the board are concerned that Mourinho’s treatment will impact his value should they cash in at the end of the season.
Shaw is a boyhood Chelsea fan and Antonio Conte’s side will move for the defender if he is allowed to leave this summer.
Ironically, it was United that beat Mourinho’s Chelsea to Shaw’s signature in 2014 and many believe Shaw’s decision to snub Mourinho is why they don't see eye to eye.
Interestingly, United have not conceded in the last 751 minutes that Shaw has been on the pitch.
