Manchester City are ready to hand Ruben Dias improved terms just 12 months after he signed for the club, reports The Daily Star.
City broke their transfer record to sign Dias from Benfica in a £61m deal last summer and the Portugal international helped inspired Pep Guardiola's side to the Premier League title.
Dias transformed City's defence into one of the best in Europe and the Premier League champions now want to reward the 24-year-old for his efforts.
City are reportedly ready to nearly double Dias' current salary and hand the centre-back wages of £140,000-a-week.
Dias didn't just tighten up City's defence, but he also helped bring the best back out of England international John Stones.
Stones' time at City looked over prior to last season after a drastic dip in form but the 27-year-old finished 2020/21 as one of the best in his position and had a strong Euro 2020 with England.
Dias kept more clean sheets (15) than any other outfielder in the Premier League last season and averaged more passes per game than any other player (25+ apps) in the division (84.8).
