Valencia have announced they have handed interim manager Pako Ayestaran a two-year deal keeping him at the club till July 2018.
Ayestaran, 53, was brought back to the club as a coach during Gary Neville’s tenure as Valencia manager but was quickly promoted into Neville’s role when the former Manchester United captain was sacked in March.
Los Che have been linked with a raft of managers as they looked to find the man to take them forward but they have stayed loyal and handed Ayestaran the full-time job.
Ayestaran only won three of his eight league games in charge as Valencia manager this season (37.5% win ratio).
