Blaise Matuidi has revealed Paris Saint-Germain blocked his proposed move to Juventus in the summer.
The France international has heavily linked with a switch to Juventus after Paul Pogba was sold to Manchester United in a world record move and the midfielder was keen on the deal happening.
However, despite wanting to leave the Ligue 1 champions Matuidi insists he is still happy at the club.
“There was a concrete offer,” Matuidi told Le Parisien, via Football Italia. “Yes, at a certain point I wished to leave. The club decided otherwise, and we had to accept it.
“I know that there’s a lot of faith placed in me. We had some very long discussions with the coach. His input mattered a lot for the club when they made their decision.
“It’s true that this was a bit of a delicate period, because I had a wish and it wasn’t fulfilled. But I am not unhappy at PSG, not by a long stretch. I’m very happy.”
In the last seven Ligue 1 campaigns only Maxime Gonalons (698) has made more tackles (563).
