Tottenham boss Pochettino continues to hint at sensational summer exit

Mauricio Pochettino has warned Tottenham he could leave the club this summer if they fail to match his ambition on the pitch.

Pochettino has miraculously guided Tottenham into this season’s Champions League final despite the fact the club have not signed a single player in each of the last two transfer windows.

Tottenham have also secured a top-four berth this season despite having to play almost the entire season at Wembley while their new stadium was being built.

The north London outfit are now in a position where they can really kick on and Pochettino has warned chairman Daniel Levy he will walk away if money is not made available this summer.

“I am open for everything. Of course, I love to work, I love Tottenham, I love to be here every day. I enjoy it a lot,” The Daily Mail quote Pochettino as saying when asked about whether he is open to leaving to Tottenham.

“Our effort was massive and my motivation to be here and to work hard, to try to achieve all that the club wants to achieve.

“But the problem is, I need to know what we need to achieve or what we are going to fight for. That is the most important.

“I am not open to start a new chapter with no plan, with no clear idea, with not being transparent, telling you and telling our fans what’s next, what is our objective.

“If we expect every season to be in the final of the Champions League, we need to create a plan. And the plan may be different to what has happened in the last five years.

“And if we believe we can operate in the same way we have in the last five years and that we are going to be every season of the Champions League, and we are going to be every season in the top four and competing against Liverpool or Manchester City or Manchester United, I think we are very naive.

“In five years we have achieved a lot of things. But now it’s what’s next, that is my point.”

Tottenham boss Pochettino continues to hint at sensational summer exit

Pochettino was heavily touted as Jose Mourinho’s successor at United before the Red Devils handed the full-time job to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following a successful interim reign.

There are now suggestions the Paris Saint-Germain could be on the hunt for a new manager following their remarkable end-of-season collapse and Pochettino is an obvious candidate to replace Thomas Tuchel.

Since taking over at Tottenham in May 2014, Pochettino has an impressive win ratio of 56.6% in all competitions.
