Liverpool midfielder emerges as shock transfer target for Chinese and MLS clubs
Adam Lallana has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Chinese and MLS clubs, claims The Daily Telegraph.
Lallana’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and the 31-year-old is way down the pecking order for places at Liverpool.
The former England international was once a key player for Jurgen Klopp but injuries in the last two years have disrupted his career.
Klopp appears to have moved on with the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain now preferred.
It is understood Liverpool plan to offer Lallana a new contract but his future at Anfield is far from certain.
A January move away could even be on the cards if clubs from MLS and China step up their interest with a formal offer.
Lallana made his first Premier League start of the season in Saturday’s dramatic 2-1 win away to Aston Villa but failed to impress.
Liverpool are unbeaten in league matches Lallana has started since the beginning of last season but the problem for the midfielder is he has only started seven times in that spell.
