Tottenham now face competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool for the signature of Aston Villa star Jack Grealish, claims The Sun.
Grealish will leave Villa this summer after Steve Bruce’s side failed to gain promotion to the Premier League last season.
Villa are also in financial turmoil and need to raise in excess of £40m this summer to meet Financial Fair Play regulations.
Tottenham are reportedly in the process of negotiating a fee with Villa after tabling a £15m offer for the 22-year-old earlier this month.
However, it has now emerged that Liverpool are also interested in signing Grealish, who thoroughly impressed for Villa last season.
Liverpool’s interest may force Tottenham into paying a high price to secure Grealish’s signature, but Daniel Levy is renowned as being a shrewd negotiator.
Of Championship players that made at least 25 appearances last season, only Adama Traore (9.7) and Jeremie Boga (4.6) completed more dribbles per 90 than Grealish (3.8).
