Monaco star Kylian Mbappe meets with Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and sporting director Antero Henrique held a meeting with Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe and his father, reports L’Equipe.

Unai Emery’s side have made signing Mbappe one of their top priorities this summer as they plot their way back to the summit of Ligue 1 after surrendering their league title to Monaco last season.

Mbappe has emerged as one of the most sought-after talents in Europe after a breathtaking second half to last season in his maiden campaign for Monaco.

Real Madrid are also determined to sign the teenager but are still waiting to discover Cristiano Ronaldo’s intentions this summer and that is slowing down their transfer activity.

Monaco have reportedly already rejected at least two bids in excess of £100m for the 18-year-old this summer and are hopeful they can convince the France international to extend his current deal, which is due to expire in 2019.

While PSG’s meeting with Mbappe went well, they would likely have to pay over the odds to convince Monaco to sell to a direct rival. Mbappe scored 26 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions for Monaco last season.
