Danny Rose has formally apologised for comments made about the club’s transfer policy earlier in the week.
The England international sensationally hit out at the fact Tottenham are the only side left in the Premier League yet to make a summer signing and even hinted at leaving.
However, Rose, who is recovering from a knee injury sustained at the start of the year, has moved to apologise to Tottenham after reflecting on the interview he gave to a national newspaper.
“Having had time to consider my actions, I acknowledge now that the timing and manner of what I said was ill-judged,” Rose said in a statement released through his agency, Base Soccer.
“My words were not meant to offend and for that I would like to apologise to the chairman, manager, my team mates and the fans.
“I’d also like to wish the lads good luck ahead of Sunday’s game against Newcastle.”

Manchester United and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the 27-year-old, although Jose Mourinho’s side are favourites given Rose has intimated he would like to return closer to Doncaster, where he was born.
Of players that made at least 15 appearances in the Premier League last season, Rose was the highest rated left back (7.42).
