Southampton are interested in signing Rennes midfielder Paul-Georges Ntep, according to Calciomercato, via TalkSPORT.
Ntep, 24, is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree an extension fuelling talk of a summer exit.
Arsenal and Liverpool have previously held an interest in the central midfielder but Southampton manager Claude Puel is eyeing a move for the France international next summer, having watched him closely during his time as a coach in Ligue 1.
In the last three Ligue 1 campaigns Ntep has completed more dribbles (124) than any other Rennes player.
