Tottenham supremo prepared to sanction big money sale
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is prepared to sanction the £200m sale of Harry Kane, with Manchester United ready to move for the England captain, reports The Mail on Sunday.
Kane has been routinely linked with a move away from Spurs and added fuel to the fire recently when quizzed on a potential exit.
The striker hasn't featured for Spurs since sustaining a hamstring injury in their 1-0 loss at Southampton on New Year's Day.
And with the club needing to raise funds to pay off the loan for the new stadium, and no matchday revenue coming in due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Kane's sale would allow the club to pay off a substantial chunk of that loan.
However, Levy is only willing to accept upwards of £200m for Kane, which would be a world record fee for a player.
Whether United can afford to pay that fee in full, it remains to be seen, but the Premier League powerhouse are set for a huge summer splurge when the transfer window opens.
Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and James Maddison have all been linked with a move to Old Trafford and the capture of Kane would be a huge statement of intent by the club.
Kane is currently Spurs' top scorer with 11 league goals to his name and his departure from the club would be a blow.
