Ashley Cole has had his contract at Roma terminated after being frozen out by head coach Rudi Garcia, according to The Guardian.
Despite still having a year left on the two-year deal Cole signed with the Serie A side last summer, he is thought surplus to requirements and has hardly featured in Garcia’s pre-season preparations.
The 34-year-old was left out of a 26-man Roma squad that beat Europa League champions Sevilla 6-4 on Friday evening and will now be forced to look for another club having turned out just 11 times in Serie A for the Giallorossi.
The ex-Chelsea left-back's time in the Eternal City will be seen a huge flop but he still finished last season in the Serie A (6.99) with his highest WhoScored rating in a league campaign since the 2009/10 Premier League campaign (7.41).
