Everton defender threatens to leave the club

Ramiro Funes Mori has threatened he will leave Everton if he is not given more first team opportunities by new manager Ronald Koeman.

The Argentina international joined Everton from River Plate in September 2015 but has dropped down the pecking order following Ashley Williams’ arrival over the summer.

Funes Mori, 25, has been in and out of the team this season and has warned Koeman he would force a move away if things do not improve.

“I started playing, but then the manager decided I had to be a substitute,” he told La Nacion, via TalkSPORT.

“I’ll see how things are going, because if I don’t play I will look for a way out to have that continuity of which we spoke, because I’ve place in the national team also based on play.”

Since the start of last season only Scott Dann (7), Laurent Koscielny, Patrick van Aanholt (both 6) have scored more goals than Funes Mori (4) of all defenders in the Premier League.
