Real Madrid are considering a move for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois instead of David de Gea this summer, according to The Daily Mail.
Courtois, 23, is reportedly open to a return to Spain after spending three successful years with Atletico Madrid prior to his return to Chelsea this season.
The Belgium international has struggled to perform at the same high level since his return from injury in December and his future could be thrown into doubt at the end of the season with Chelsea unlikely to be able to offer European football.
It was thought that Madrid would rekindle their interest in Manchester United shot-stopper De Gea in the summer, but the recent signals from the Spanish capital seem to suggest they have abandoned their pursuit in the United No.1.
