Hull City lose appeal for deadline day signing

French side Guingamp have announced Yannis Salibur is now available for selection after his proposed deadline day deal to Hull City failed to go through in time.

Marco Silva’s side made a late swoop for the Guingamp winger in what was a busy day for the Premier League strugglers but the Tigers failed to complete all the necessary paperwork in time.

Hull had hoped to still secure Salibur’s signing on appeal but the Ligue 1 outfit have since confirmed they have been given the all-clear from the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) to re-consider the 26-year-old for selection.

It means that Antoine Kombouare is free to one of his best players for Wednesday’s trip to Marseille as Guingamp look to secure their first league win away from home since a 3-1 win over Lyon in October.

Of Guingamp players to have featured in more than one league game this season only Fernando Marcal (7.56) has garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Salibur (7.52), who is their second top goalscorer in the league with five goals. Not only that, but he has completed the most dribbles for Guingamp in the league this season (46).
