Watford receive £25m bid for Deeney from China

Watford striker Troy Deeney is the latest player from Europe that is linked with a move to China after Hebei China launched a £25m bid for the Hornets skipper, reports The Daily Mirror.

Deeney only signed a new five-year deal with Watford in July 2016 after being heavily linked with a move to reigning Premier League champions Leicester.

The 28-year-old has been dropped from the starting XI in recent matches and is reportedly unhappy with life at Vicarage Road and would consider a move away.

Watford wouldn’t be able to command the £20m Leicester were prepared to pay in the summer from other clubs in Europe so the fact that Hebei China are willing to offer so much may turn their hand, with his striker partner, Odion Ighalo, also linked with a move to China once again.

Deeney brought up 100 goals for Watford in December but has largely struggled this season. The Hornets captain has managed to play a direct hand in seven league goals but has only found the back of the net once in his last 1,214 minutes of league action in all competitions.
