Aston Villa midfielder Joe Cole is hopeful of securing a loan move to a Championship club after talks with manager Tim Sherwood, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Cole, 33, joined Villa last summer but has failed to make any impression under Sherwood has only been given a 30 minute cameo against Notts County in the League Cup so far this season.
The former Chelsea midfielder, who made won more than 50 caps during his nine-year England career, is fully fit but has failed to make the grade under Sherwood and the Villa manager will now consider offers from the Championship for Cole, as well as other fringe players like Charles N’Zogbia, Kieran Richardson and Philippe Senderos.
“If someone wants to take one of these players who are not going to play on a regular basis then I would have to decide whether it would be right for the club to let them go.”
