Everton eye stunning £60m January move for Borussia Dortmund star
Everton have set their sights on completing a sensational £60m January deal for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reports The Daily Mirror.
Dortmund have reportedly ran out of patience with Aubameyang and are willing to sell their star striker in January, which should interest a number of Premier League sides.
Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for the Gabon international before they signed Alvaro Morata, while Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the striker in the past.
However, Everton are the latest side mooted with a move for the 28-year-old as Sam Allardyce’s side finally look to find a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
The Toffees failed to sufficiently replace Lukaku in the summer and that has contributed to their dreadful start to the campaign, which included Ronald Koeman’s sacking at the end of October.
However, it seems highly unlikely that Aubameyang would be willing to trade in life at Dortmund for Premier League strugglers Everton, having previously been tipped with high profile moves to some of Europe’s top clubs.
In the last three Bundesliga campaigns, only Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski (74) has scored more goals than Aubameyang (67).
