Sunderland have announced they have signed Manchester City defender Jason Denayer on a season-long loan deal.
Denayer, 21, had looked set to return to Galatasaray earlier on Wednesday but the versatile defender’s move collapsed allowing David Moyes’ side to step in.
Sunderland have been desperate to add to their backline this summer and have made steps towards addressing the issue with the arrival of the Belgium international.
Denayer made 15 starts for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig last season where he averaged a respectable 3.4 tackles and interceptions combined.
