Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has again been forced to dismiss claims he is poised to return to Barcelona.
Bellerin, 21, left Barcelona to join Arsenal in 2013 and has been heavily linked with a return to Camp Nou after emerging as one of the best right-backs in the Premier League in the last two seasons.
Luis Enrique’s side are desperate to sign a new right-back to add competition with Sergi Roberto but may have to look at alternative options after Bellerin has once more been denied claims he will return to Spain.
“If I wanted to play there I would have stayed there,” Bellerin told The London Evening Standard. “I was very happy when Arsenal showed interest in me and I decided to come here. I’m not looking back. I’m just looking to help Arsenal.
“It’s nice for a player to know that big teams want you, but I’m very happy here. I’ve got three years left on my contract, so I’m just focused on playing every single week, improving and hopefully making things happen here at Arsenal.”
Since the start of last season Bellerin has completed more dribbles than any other defender in the Premier League (81).
