Arsenal turn to Dortmund for Sanchez replacement

Arsenal will look to sign Borussia Dortmund ace Marco Reus if they fail to keep hold of Alexis Sanchez, according to The Daily Mirror.

Sanchez is yet to agree new terms on a contract extension and has entered the final two years of his existing deal, casting doubt over his long-term future at the club.

Reus, 27, who has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, has been plagued by injuries during his career and hasn’t featured for Dortmund since the DFB Pokal final in May.

Arsene Wenger does not want to lose Sanchez but the Chile international is demanding £200,000-a-week and wants a buy-out clause inserted into his new deal, forcing the Gunners to put plans in place in case they cannot keep hold of their talisman.

In the last seven Bundesliga campaigns Reus has created more goalscoring chances than any other player (365).
