Juventus in talks for Chelsea midfielder

Juventus have stepped up their interest in Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, claims The National.

Jorginho is into his second season at Chelsea after joining the club from Napoli in an initial £50m deal in the summer of 2018.

The Italy international has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus ever since Maurizio Sarri left Chelsea to take over at the Old Lady in the summer.

Sarri transformed Jorginho into one of the best midfielders in Italy during their time at Napoli but the 28-year-old has found life in the Premier League more difficult.

Juventus are reportedly now in talks to sign Jorginho from Chelsea and Frank Lampard will have a big decision to make on his future.

This summer's transfer window is the first Lampard will have to buy players since he replaced Sarri in the summer.

Chelsea already have Hakim Ziyech joining the club from Ajax and the Blues are expected to be one of the busiest sides in the transfer window.

With plenty of player departures in the works already, adding Jorginho's exit to the mix may prove too much of an overhaul in one summer for the Blues.

Of players to have made at least 30 appearances in the Premier League since the beginning of last season, only two other average more passes per game than Jorginho (70.2).
