Wolves are close to finalising a £16m deal for versatile Manchester City winger Oleksandr Zinchenko, reports The Daily Mirror.
Zinchenko emerged as a usual player for Pep Guardiola last season after being moulded into a left-back when neither Benjamin Mendy nor Fabian Delph were available.
The 21-year-old performed well despite naturally being an attacking player but Wolves are now on the verge of making him their club-record signing.
Nuno’s side broke their transfer record to prise Ruben Neves away from Porto 12 months ago in a deal worth £15.8m.
Wolves romped home to the Championship title last season and are now looking to build a squad capable of competing in the Premier League next term.
The Ukraine international made eight appearances in the Premier League last season, garnering a solid WhoScored rating of 7.11.
Guardiola has a reputation for giving young players a chance but that hasn’t really been the case during his two years as City head coach and his decision to sell Zinchenko only dispels that idea further.
