New Liverpool signing sidelined for up to 10 weeks

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has been ruled out for eight to 10 weeks after breaking his hand in a pre-season game, reports The Daily Mirror.

Karius, 23, joined Liverpool over the summer from Mainz and was tipped to start the new season as Jurgen Klopp’s new No.1 goalkeeper.

However, the £4.7m signing is now expected to be ruled out of action for a minimum of two months leaving Liverpool fans facing the prospect of Simon Mignolet starting between the sticks.

In the last two Premier League campaigns no player has made more errors that have directly led to a shot on goal than Mignolet (10).
