Barcelona are plotting a summer swoop for Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez, reports the Daily Mail.
The La Liga champions are keen to bring in a backup frontman for strike trio Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
The Blaugrana have been frustrated in their efforts to sign a striker this summer having missed out on Luciano Vietto and Kevin Gameiro.
They have since turned their attention to Ayoze Perez, who could leave Newcastle this summer following the arrivals of Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle.
The 24-year-old, though, is happy at Newcastle under manager Rafa Benitez and hopes to play a big role in the Magpies’ quest to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Ayoze has been scouted by Barcelona in the past and the La Liga side could move for the frontman before the transfer window closes, however.
