Chelsea step up efforts to sign Conte’s top targets
Chelsea are set to step up their efforts to sign Alex Sandro and Tiemoue Bakayoko from Juventus and Monaco, respectively, reports the Guardian.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has supposedly become frustrated by the club’s lack of movement in the market, which led to reports that he may look to leave this summer.
While the rumours were quickly denied, Chelsea are keen to appease their title winning manager and will act accordingly to bring in Sandro and Bakayoko in the coming weeks.
Conte is keen to bring in both players and is believed to be waiting on some serious movements in the transfer market before committing to a new deal at Stamford Bridge, which has been on the table since the end of last season.
Chelsea’s Italian manager views Sandro as an upgrade at left wing-back on Marcos Alonso, despite the Spaniards impressive showings, with a bid of £55m in the offing.
The west London side have, meanwhile, been leading the race to sign France international Bakayoko, though the deal has moved along at a snails pace.
Nevertheless, the 22-year-old is set to join for a fee rumoured to be £40m.
