Manchester United’s French star wants to leave the club
Anthony Martial has turned down a contract extension from Manchester United and wants to quit the club this summer, reports RMC.
The France international’s current deal is due to expire at the end of next season but United have an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
Martial has failed to nail down a regular starting berth at United under Jose Mourinho and Alexis Sanchez’s January arrival has only pushed him further down the pecking order.
United’s hierarchy will be resigned to losing Martial as they still believe he is one of the brightest attacking talents at the club but they may not have any choice.
Martial has reportedly rejected a five-year deal from United and will now look to kickstart his career elsewhere.
Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are all monitoring the situation, while Arsenal may also rekindle their interest in the 22-year-old at the end of the season.
Martial has only started 16 Premier League matches this season and only six of United’s 17 matches in all competitions in 2018.
The United No.11 has scored or assisted more Premier League goals as a substitute than any other player this season (6).
