Leicester star set to miss next two matches

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has confirmed star midfielder N’Golo Kante will miss their next two matches with a hamstring injury.

Kante, 24, who wasn’t even a professional footballer three years ago, has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season and his tireless performances in the middle of the pitch have been integral to their success this season.

The former Caen midfielder has featured in every single league game up to now but it has now been confirmed he will now miss their home fixture against West Brom on Tuesday and their away trip to Watford at the weekend.

“We will lose him for the next two matches, but I hope it is only for two,” The Leicester manager is quoted as saying by Eurosport.

“He has a little problem with his hamstring. He has suffered all the season, but now we want to give him some rest, but I think after two matches he will be able to restart.

“All the season he had a problem to his other leg but now this is a problem in his other leg. Maybe he over compensated and charged too much. Fortunately, it is nothing serious.”

The Foxes will feel Kante’s absence, particularly when it comes to breaking down opposition attacks. In fact, Kante has made at least 23 more tackles and interceptions combined than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season (222).
